Where has the spring gone? Seems like yesterday I has looking at the calendar and checking off races to go see and sportifs to ride, now it is time to look forward to cross season! Just a blur now. I've certainly gone to fewer races this year, even Paris Roubaix was seen only via TV this year. The upside is riding more and less time in the car.And isn't riding what it's all about? Yesterday I rode the Peter van Petegem Classic, 150km of ever back road between Oudenaarde and Brackel. A really great course, rarely a car on any of the backroads and the short sharp hills making the legs not want to recover today. Like all good rides in Flanders the route cuts back and forth over the countryside, hard to tell which way you're riding at times. And most important a perfect recon for the Gouden Flandrian just 4 weeks away.

Sram rider taking it to the streets!
Righteous!
says socal dude.
the Koppenberg isn't a street--only an evil length of earth and stone meant to break any human spirit.
And every year I'll keep going back. . .
